Eurofighter Typhoon Fighter-Bomber

Posted by Andrew On October - 19 - 2007

Eurofighter TyphoonApparently the nations of Europe aren’t planning on going to war with each other anytime soon. If they did, they would be fighting against each other with the exact same aircraft, I guess it comes down to the pilot’s skill at that point. The Eurofighter Typhoon, or Europe’s answer to the 5th Generation fighter aircraft concept, is finally emerging on the world stage as a prominent export fighter aircraft. While people consistently try to compare this jet with the F-22 Raptor, it really doesn’t compete in many areas. The Eurofighter Typhoon’s…

German Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank

Manufacturer:  Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW)

Leopard 2 Main Battle TankSo the Germans have a tank that is comparable to the American Abrams line of tanks.  Big deal right?  Of course not!  The Leopard is fighting side by side with the American Abrams in Afghanistan and Iraq right now!  The Canadians in particular have deployed many Leopards to Afghanistan for combat roles, and the opinions on which tank is better are mixed.  It basically goes both ways, each tank has its pros and cons, and in the end; they both are equally as effective against the threats they face there.  The similarities…

Missile Defense Agency = Star Wars

Posted by Andrew On October - 2 - 2007

missile defense agencyEveryone has heard in the news about how Russia is furious over the US decision to go ahead with implementing a missile defence shield. A major point not emphasized in popular media relevant to these press releases is the shadowy US agency responsible for devising the missile defence plan. Named simply enough, the MDA, or Missile Defence Agency, a department within the Department of Defence, is really the “Star Wars” program, or the Strategic Defence Initiative (SDI) from the Cold War era with a different name. People around the world are saying that the US is still in a “Cold…
