The AH-64 Apache attack helicopter embodies myriad modern manifestations of fighting units founded from as far back as ancient times. Think of it as a piece that can make any move that it wants on a chess board. With a standoff of modern armor, artillery, or infantry; the apache’s speed and firepower can allow the US to flank and then wreak havoc on dug-in enemy forces; just like armies from ancient times used horse-mounted calvary to flank and mount surprise attacks. Scores of apache helicopters can mount all out assaults, break through enemy lines, and allow the main fighting force to penetrate, just like a concentrated calvary charge can break a line. With the most firepower on the battlefield, a single apache helicopter can be armed with up to 16 Hellfire missiles , each capable of killing a tank or equivalent armored vehicle. The fire and control system on the apache is so advanced, that if the enemy tanks are concentrated together, the apache could potentially kill up to 16 tanks in mere minutes. The apache can also play the roles of either defensive standoff or offensive siege craft, able to lay down firepower on advancing forces with minimal exposure, and also able to lay down long range firepower on enemy defensive positions. Mainly though, the apache is a maneuver unit, and when combined with the other advanced and heavy weaponry all available to the American commander on the battlefield, the enemy is completely overwhelmed in near instant death. Laser and GPS-guided bombs from the sky, missiles from apaches and MLRS, and depleted uranium shells from M1-A2 Abrams tanks, coupled with the actively managed digitized battlefield creates a venerable orchestra of firepower makes quick work of anything.

This is an Apache video that highlights the maneuver and fire capabilities of the apache helicopter.
