The FA-22 Raptor is a symbol of Future Firepower. The Raptor encompasses advanced avionics, a very maneuverable airframe, and the ability to cruise at supersonic speeds without the use of an afterburner which increases it’s effective range. The F-22 can internally carry two 1,000 pound-class Joint Direct Attack Munitions or JDAM’s, along with a variety of air-to-air missiles. By carrying all of it’s munitions internally, the F-22 reduces it’s drag and adds to its stealth capabilities. The raptor can acquire targets and engage multiple targets simultaneously before the enemy aircraft even know what hit them. The f-22 raptor is the future of air superiority. Hi Guys Know this is of topic but i want to know what type of weapon is on the back of the pilotrs seat in an F22 for self defense if he have to eject in enemy territory.

@Johan VD Schyf: I think the pilot carries a P90 because it is issued to tank crews and the such as a personal defense weapon. That is why Nato created the gun.
Back on subject of the raptor: it’s a good plane…. if you have 122million dollars for one plane. to replace the 633 f-15’s in service would cost 77 billion dollars. And you thought the US was in dept now.

When the SU 37 becomes operational it will eat the F 22 for breakfast.
The SU 37 is an agile cunning street brawler that can get in your face if it wishes - The F 22 is a muscle bound pretty boy that talks the talk but wont walk the walk here.
